Battery shopping – do I really need to go to the dealer? - loganhughes - 03-31-2026 Okay so I’m pretty sure my battery is on its last legs. It’s been struggling to turn over the past few mornings and with summer coming up I don’t want to risk getting stuck somewhere. I’m trying to figure out if I should just go to the dealership and pay that premium or if finding a good independent place is the smarter move. I’ve been looking around and honestly the options are a bit overwhelming. I just want something reliable that can handle the heat without me having to think about it again for a couple years. I noticed while searching for a new car battery near me that there’s actually a spot with pretty solid reviews that specializes in this stuff, which makes me feel a bit better about skipping the dealer. Anyone here gone the independent route and regretted it or is it pretty straightforward if you pick a place that knows what they’re doing? |
