Repetitive strain injury from work – anyone know a good local lawyer?
#1
I've been working a packaging line for almost three years now, and my right hand has gotten to the point where I can barely grip anything by the end of my shift. The doctor thinks it's carpal tunnel from the same motion over and over, but my employer says since it wasn't one specific accident, they're not sure if workers comp will cover it. I'm kind of lost because I've never filed a claim before, and I don't want to mess up the paperwork or miss some deadline while I'm still trying to work through the pain. A buddy told me I should talk to a Catskill NY workplace injury lawyer who handles these gradual injury cases, not just falls or lifting accidents. Has anyone here successfully gotten comp for repetitive strain stuff like carpal tunnel or tendonitis? And if so, did you have a good experience with someone local? I found a few names online but it's hard to tell who actually knows what they're doing with these weird not-one-incident claims. Really appreciate any recommendations or warnings.
