In Windows, VPN Error 800 means that your computer cannot connect to the VPN server at the very start of the connection process. Most of the time, it highlights problems with the network or setup, for example, a wrong address of the server, an unstable internet connection, ports being blocked, or a firewall getting in the way. This error is raised even before the user is asked to log in, so it means that the system doesn't even manage to reach the server. Besides, this kind of error can also be caused by issues with DNS, restrictions by ISP, or a down VPN server, which all indicate that there is a problem in communication between the client and the VPN server.
